A full day of Avocados and country fun!
Experience the charm of Blackbutt Avocado Festival, a rustic adventure celebrating all things avocado. Access the freshest avocados and homegrown delights at our market filled with markers, farmers and wares.
Cheers! Like all good country yarns, this too started over a cold beer at the local pub, Blackbutt’s Hotel Radnor in 2016. Two fellas, an avocado grower Barry Trousdell and medical centre operator Jeff Connor, standing at the bar as mates, dreaming the Blackbutt Avocado Festival to life to honour the signature commodity of their town of Blackbutt.
Family-Friendly
Get on the trackless train for free; enjoy the local canteen and get the best of the free sites and sounds on show at the Festival. Be sure to meet Alvin and Avo-Joe mascots of Avocado Australia and the Blackbutt Avocado Festival!
Have Fun!
The Avocado festival is quirky and charming! Watch the skydiver jump out of the sky; try your hand at the Avocado carnival games like AvoToss and Avo Strongman & Strong Woman, try your luck at Avo Golf and the Avo Roll. Don’t forget to sign up early to the good ol’ wheelbarrow races! Did we mention there is over $2000 to be won?
Local Culture
Immerse yourself in music from local musicians and music that brings home the truths of Country living – country! Enjoy Nanna’s homemade sweets and knitted goods, enjoy a CWA tea and scones and a good country burger from the canteen!
New ways with Avocado
Enjoy the locally made avocado cheesecake, the addition to your Lions Burger, it crushed on top of Nachos or with a spoon straight from the farmer’s trailer! Be sure to take home a bag of Blackbutt Avocados, you won’t regret it!
Quaint Blackbutt
Home for it’s Australian famous pies, and it’s local art scene; be sure to take a moment to wander the street of Blackbutt. The local pub, Hotel Radnor pays homage to the towns history of woodchopping with memorabilia on it’s walls. It still sponsors world-champion local male and female woodchoppers today!
Support the Farmers
Farming is a tough gig, especially Avocados. But, our Farmers love it and are proud to be supplying Australian families with Australian Avocados. So come along, thank-a-farmer and enjoy the town’s fruits of their labour.
